PROCESS
I chose to create a title sequence for “Atmosphere” by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I wanted to capture Atmosphere’s love story, space setting, and found-family dynamic. To begin this project, I reread "Atmosphere" and analyzed its tone, mood, and other major visuals I wanted to highlight. Then, I developed a moodboard, style frames, and a script to establish the starting direction. These helped me plan the overall aesthetic and pacing to align with the song, "Space Baby" by The Tubes. Next, I created all my vectors on Illustrator, added textures, and placed everything in AfterEffects. While in AfterEffects, I pushed myself to go past the basics and learn expressions to enhance the 3D space.
PRODUCT
In the final product, the visuals refer to key scenes from the novel and the text highlights the main characters. The viewer is also immersed in the story through the 3D environment.
