ATMOSPHERE

TITLE SEQUENCE

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Create a visually captivating motion-graphics title sequence for the start of a movie that grabs the viewer’s attention and sets the tone for the story using motion graphics, timing, and visual style.

Visual Storytelling - Motion Graphics Design - Concept Development | Adobe Illustrator - Adobe After Effects

MOODBOARD

First, I created a moodboard to capture the love story, space setting, and found-family dynamic of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s book “Atmosphere.” I analyzed the books’ tone, mood, and other major visuals to figure out what elements I wanted to include in my title sequence.

SCRIPT

Then, I created a script to organize when and what elements I wanted to feature in the video. I organized specific lyrics and video content together and separated them by the amount of time for each section.

VIDEO

In the final product, the visuals refer to key scenes from the novel and the text highlights the main characters. The viewer is also immersed in the story through the 3D environment.

SPECIAL EDITION BOOK RELEASE

To expand past the title sequence, I also created special edition releases to go along with the release of the movie.

Since Atmosphere is based off a book, there will be special edition’s of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel available for purchase with the movie.

There will also be special endpages to match the design of the cover and title sequence.
